Weekly Assembly
Our school aims to create a positive environment where all pupils are encouraged to be enthusiastic and to work to achieve their full potential. Each Friday, we hold our weekly assembly in St. Brigid’s Hall. The purpose of the assembly is to recognise and reward the good work of the children during the week.

Each week the star pupil from each class is selected by the class teacher and the winner receives a 'Pupil of the Week' certificate at our weekly assembly. To encourage full attendance, all pupils who have not missed a day during the week receive a 'Bualadh Bos' and at the end of the month, if they have full attendance, are rewarded with a homework voucher.

There may also be reminders about school rules, though the emphasis is very strongly on positive reinforcement. To further develop an interest in Problem Solving in Maths, we have introduced a Maths problem per class each week. Pupils who have completed it successfully are entered into a draw per class for a lucky dip. The Parents Council organise “Split the Pot” each week and the raffle is held at Assembly. And one class provides a short entertainment session by reciting poems, singing, or playing music. Assembly is very popular and encourages excellent work.
