October 2019
Although it’s a short month at school we have filled our days with lots of work and play. There have been lots of themes running through our work this month including the signs of Autumn, The Gingerbread Man, The clothes shop and The Smartest Giant in town with Aistear play sessions based on these up and running. We’ve also started our theme based ‘Show and Tell’ with great contributions from the children. We are making great progress at our counting in maths, practicing every day. GAA training has also begun and we’re focusing on bouncing, throwing and catching skills at the moment. Our Gaeilge is also coming along nicely as one week we have been learning all about ‘Cochaillín dearg agus an Mac Tíre’. As Hallowe’en was approaching up we did a lot of art including Autumn leaf rubbing, we made some spooky spiders, bats and ghoulish ghosts. We also planted bulbs and flowers, many thanks to all of your parents who sent them in and Mrs Dunne for helping us develop our ‘green fingers’. We wrapped up October with a seriously spooky party and dress up day. We all deserve the break!

September 2019
September has started with a flurry of exciting activities. We’ve been singing, dancing, marching, running, painting, problem solving, sorting and eating apples grown in the school’s garden but to name a few. We’ve drawn beautiful self-portraits after looking at ourselves in mirrors and we finished up our work in September with the messiest splatter painting ever! It was in all our hair but definitely the most fun we’ve had at school so far.
