January 2018
Before Christmas we had completed lessons on the Native Americans and some of us decided to be super busy during the holidays and make some Native American artefacts. You can see some photographs below. January was a very busy month. We did lots of fun drama that extended our vocabulary. We also have the Mystery Bag every day. It’s a great way to develop our language. We learned a lovely song called, “Go tell it on the mountain” and we moved onto note C in the recorder. In art we drew and coloured from observation. We are very active every day doing our 10@10. We dance to funky music with actions. It’s great fun. We love it!

November 2017
November has been a very busy month for third and fourth class. In Science we were learning about magnets. It was great fun going around the classroom exploring what was magnetic. We used horseshoe magnets and bar magnets to explore with. In History we are learning about the Native American People. It’s very interesting. In Music Generation Carlow we are learning a 2 part arrangement of the song ‘Splish Splash’ along with our own special moves! In Religion we learned all about All Saints and All Souls Day and the Sacrament of Anointing the sick. We sang some beautiful songs and we done some work in our Religious Education Journals. In Art we made beautiful Christmas pictures and of course we spent a lot of the month of November learning our lines for our Christmas Play, ‘Santa goes to the Caribbean’.

October 2017
We had a very busy October. We were extremely busy getting our Viking Projects ready to be displayed in the hall. We learned so much about the Vikings. We made beautiful Halloween collages in Art and also entered two art competitions. We went over to the hall and we made two apple tarts. They were delicious! We learned an Irish poem called ‘Óiche Shamhna’ and an English poem called, ‘The Night of Halloween’. We learned a spooky song called ‘Dark Disco’. We sang it in Assembly and used musical instruments to accompany it. It was lots of fun. On the last day before the Mid-Term, we all dressed up. Everyone looked fantastic! We walked down to Huntington Castle. It was great fun. When we came back to class, we had a party. It was a great day!
