As a parent you will receive regular notices from the Parent's Council to inform you of any relevant information. Parents' Council Meeting dates will be posted here. We appreciate your support.

Next parents' Council meeting is on Wednesday 29 May at 7.30pm in the school

17 & 18 May 2019: Bunclody Bucket Collection
The Parents' Council will be holding a Bucket Collection in Bunclody on Friday 17 May and Saturday 18 May to raise money for resources for the school. The government grants are not sufficient to fund valuable resources for our children. The school is reliant on fundraising for support. We would really appreciate it if as many parents as possible could give up an hour or two of their time to help out. Please let us know your availability!

8 May 2019: Parents' Council Meeting
Please join us for a Parents' Council Meeting on 6 May 2019 at 7.30pm. Meeting will be held in the school. Amongst other things, we will be talking about organising the Bucket Collection in Bunclody on 17 and 18 May. Hope to see you there.

22 March 2019: Outcome Trolley Raffle
We would like to thank the volunteers that helped us out with the Trolley Raffle. The raffle brought up 1180 euros and still proves to be a success. Congratulations to Nancy Brennan who is the big winner of 150 euro. The remainder of the money will be used for playground game markings.

Unfortunately, there were still some gaps in the schedule where support was needed. We are always looking for volunteers to help out on special occasions. Please contact the Parents' Council if you can help out. We really don't need a lot of your time.

15 & 16 March 2019: Help needed with Bunclody Supervalu Trolley Raffle
We are urgently looking for more volunteers for our annual Trolley Raffle, held in Supervalu, Bunclody on 15 & 16 March from 10am to 6pm. If you have an hour or two to help us out we would really appreciate it. Simply sign up online. All monies raised will be used for resources for our kids, such as playground games markings, laptops, etc.

6 March 2019 at 7.30pm: Parents' Council Meeting
There will be a Parents' Council Meeting on 6 March 2019 at 7.30pm. Please find the agenda below. We will also be agreeing on a purpose for this fund raising. Meeting will be held in the school.

16 February 2019: NPC Regional Assembly from on 16 February
The National Parents Council invites all parents of children in primary school to attend the upcoming regional Assembly meeting on the topic of Technology in Education: Preparing Children for the future. It will be held from 11am - 4pm in Midlands Hotel in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Hear experts discuss technology in education and the impact it can have on preparing our children for the future, followed by a consultation with parents. This event is free of charge. Lunch will be provided on the day. Visit www.npc.ie for more infromation and to register to attend.

23 January 2019 at 7.30pm: Next Parents' Council Meeting
During the last meeting we came up with a few interesting ideas on how to raise funds for the school in support of our children. Join us at the next Parents’ Council meeting in the school. We would love to hear your ideas and opinion!

9 January 2019: Outcome Parents Council Christmas Raffle
Happy New Year! Thank you to all who returned their Christmas Raffle cards and to those who donated prizes, people's time preparing for the Christmas Raffle and helping during the Raffle. There were 25 prizes in total, including lunch, fuel and pharmacy vouchers, large and small hampers and a beauty box. We raised €1680 in total. MANY THANKS, this money will be used towards painting fun games on the playgrounds around the school.

19 December 2018: Help needed with Christmas hampers
On Wednesday 19 December at 7pm we will be putting together the hampers in the school. With a few extra hands we would be done much quicker. Come and lend us a hand while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. We would appreciate your help very much and we hope to see you then!

18 December 2018: Christmas Raffle (cards and donations)
With Christmas right around the corner, so is the Parents’ Council’s yearly Christmas Raffle, our main fundraiser. We are sending out the Raffle cards soon. We would appreciate it if you could sell as many lines as possible. They are 1 euro per line. If you need additional cards, they are available in the school office. The Raffle will be held on 20 December at 1pm in St. Brigid’s Hall. Raffle prizes include hampers, vouchers and other items.

In order to make the hampers and prizes, we are looking for donations of non-perishable items, such as: vouchers, small craft item, tinned foods, sweets, biscuits, dry packed foods (pasta, noodles) and drinks. No frozen foods, fresh fruit, meat items or other perishable items can be accepted. Please return raffle cards and bring in donations to the school office by 18 December at the latest.

7 November 2018: Parents' Council Meeting at 7.30pm
The next Parents' Council meeting will be held on Wednesday 7 November from 7.30 to 9.00pm in the school. The following items will be on the agenda.

25 October 2018: Halloween Disco Cancelled Due to Football Finals
Unfortunately, the boys' and girls' Football final does have an impact on our yearly Halloween Disco. Therefore, the decision has been made to postpone this event to a later date and have a disco or similar celebration at another time during the year.

24 October 2018 at 6pm: Help Needed with Good Luck Signs for Football Finals
We are delighted that our school's girls and boys Football teams are both playing the Cumann na mBunscol final on Thursday 25 October. This is a brilliant achievement and we hope many of you will be there to support both teams. The Parent's Council is planning to paint a few good luck signs for the matches. If anyone is free to call in to St. Brigid’s Hall on Wednesday 24 October at 6pm and help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

10 October 2018: Minutes Parents' Council Annual General Meeting
During the Annual General Meeting a new committee was formed. Alison Murphy will stay on as Chairperson and Breda Murphy as Treasurer. Eveline van Manen is the new Parents' Council Secretary. We also welcome Emma Walsh in her role as Vice Chairperson and Sarah Kirwan in her role as Vice Secretary. We would like to express our thanks to Elizabeth Cosgrave for all her work and dedication as the Parents' Council Secretary in the past 2 years.

During the meeting our Principal outlined some ideas for (financial support) from the Parents' Council and a first brainstorm session was held on (new) fund raising ideas. We would love to hear your ideas on how to raise funds. Come to our next meeting or e-mail us at clonegalparents@gmail.com.

10 October 2018: Parents' Council Annual General Meeting at 7.30pm
We will be holding the Parents' Council Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday October 10 at 7.30pm in the school. The following will be the agenda for the night:

  • Sign in and welcome
  • Update on last year's activities
  • Treasurers report
  • Upcoming events
  • Request for fundraising from school
  • Fundraising plans/ideas
  • Committee appointment 2018-2019
  • AOB

At every AGM the Parent Council committee of the previous year steps down and a new committee is elected. With this in mind we would like to receive nominations for the new committee – this will be done at the meeting from those present on the night. We would strongly encourage parent’s attendance at this event, as without a complete parent’s council we cannot continue to organise events/ fundraisers for the benefit of your children. Just to remind you of some of the events that the Parent’s Council organise: Halloween Party/ Disco, Christmas Hamper Raffle, Santa’s Visit, Trolley Raffle. Your support is greatly appreciated.
